Welcome to Chicago!

No matter where you’re coming from, we think you’re going to love Chicago! Chicago is an amazing city that offers a lot of fun things to see and do, especially in the summer months, so plan to come early and stay late.

There are a variety of ways to get to the Chicago Congress, we advise you to do your research. We have provided some links below that might be helpful in navigating your way to the ‘Windy City’.

Chicago has two International airports, O’Hare and Midway.  O’Hare International Airport is closer to Loyola University with easy transportation by train, bus, cab or Uber.  But for those Southwest Airlines fliers coming from the States, Midway is the airport to use.

We suggest you book early in order to get the best rate for your travel. We will be updating this page with more travel information over the next several months…


Flights to Chicago from Europe

Still thinking about attending the Chicago Congress? But need a great international rate? You can still find some reasonable flights on sites like One Travel, CheapOAir, Kayak and other internet travel sites. 


Chicago O’Hare Airport:

O’Hare Airport is the nearest airport to Loyola University, Lake Shore Campus. Its website will give you the information you need to see which airlines fly into Chicago O’Hare, terminal maps,  and getting from the airport to Loyola via train, taxi or rental car, plus more…

Chicago Midway Airport:

Chicago Midway airport is little further away from Loyola University, Lake Shore Campus, but is a hub for Southwest Airlines. Southwest has some great rates if you’re flying within the United States. The Midway site will help you find the right transportation for you to get to the Loyola University by train, bus, rental car or Uber.

We have added a link to Loyola University. It will take you to ‘residence life’ section. You can check out the campus, the dorms, getting around Chicago, and other places to stay. It’s really a lovely campus, set right on the shores of Lake Michigan.

As always Google map can give you directions and help you get an idea of where things are in the Chicago area. If you’re not staying on Campus, the map will help you to see the campus location so that you don’t pick a place that is too far away.

Are You Driving?

If you are going to be traveling to Chicago by vehicle, we recommend that you review the website, updated by the State of Illinois, on the road construction that will be taking place throughout the state. The website is: Gettingaroundillinois

Taking Mass (Public) Transit

Check out RTA website that will tell you what trains you need to take from O’Hare or Midway Airports, or other destinations. RTA. You put in where you are and that you want to go to Loyola University, Lakeshore Campus. It will tell you what trains to take and the time it will take you. The simplest solution is the Blue Line train from near Terminal 3, change in the centre of Chicago to the Red line train to Loyola. $5. No change from the ticket machines!
